So...It's Pretty Poopy When He's Gone

For some reason, Husband going away seems to coincide with unusual poop activity around here...

Sometimes it's Dog - and I really hate cleaning up after him.
Sometimes it's poop in the bathtub or blowouts in the crib.
And then there was that time when there was an uncontrollable overflowing toilet which resulted in mess spreading all over the bathroom floor...

This time, it was an unflushed toilet that Son got into and decided to spread all over the bathroom and hallway...

It was not a lovely sight.
It's never good when you find a trail of poop in the hallway...
...and then smeared in the bathroom...
...and then all over your baby...
I did not react well.

What is the deal with kids and not flushing the toilet???
Isn't that part of potty training 101???
Go potty, flush toilet, wash hands, done.

Now that we have a one year old that gets into anything he's not supposed to which is in his line of sight (toilets, trash cans, cupboards, dog food bowls...) it is even more imperative that the potty trained people in this household abide by those cardinal rules.  Imperative.  And I'm not exactly sure how to get everyone on board with this concept.
Perhaps the freaking out this morning knocked some sense into them.
Mostly likely, however, it accomplished nothing.

The incident happened this morning right before church.
It was not a great day to start a Sunday, but it worked out fine.

I think it's safe to say that it can be pretty poopy without Husband here...

And in other, but related news...

Third Daughter wasn't very happy with me today.
She drew this picture of me with a giant X above it.

I'm not exactly sure what I did to deserve this kind of hostility, but hopefully we can work things out by the end of the day and she'll forgive me.

We'll all be happy when Dad comes home tomorrow :)
We miss him terribly when he's gone.

oh no... Yes, you get all my sympathy. You know I lost it when R got poo on my furniture. Its poo, so all reason and patience and understanding goes out the window. Its Poo!
