So...Tag

I always enjoy a good tag (when I actually sit down to do it).
And so I decided to take Julie up on her tag, even though I am pretty busy smoochin' my babykins. :)
And let me tell you - his cheeks are oh-so-smoochable.

This is a little tricky since I have already posted 200 things about me. There can't possible anything else interesting worth listing, but I will try. And I have no idea if I'm repeating myself because even I didn't read through my list of 200 things about me.

1::I'm afraid of falling of bridges on the freeway. I always cringe a bit when I drive over one. I worry that I might get in an accident and fly off, the bridge might collapse, or I might just drive right off the edge.
2::I developed a fear of heights with age. This doesn't help my fear of freeway bridges.
3::I like to drive without any music on.
4::I like to run without music too.
5::I believe the music album is a dying art. No thanks to mp3's. Boo. There's nothing like listening to a great album start to finish.
6::I always leave the tab to my soda cans up after I open the can, and then poor the soda into a glass of ice. The soda tastes better that way.
7::I make pretty good homemade pizza. And spaghetti sauce.
8::My least favorite color is red.
9::My current favorite color is grey.
10::I dream of having a wood burning fireplace. I would build a fire everyday. Even in the summer.
11::I love the smell of bleach. And laundry detergent.
(from Julie)

1::What is the best (your favorite) book ou have ever read and why?
I am so not good at answering questions about books. I'm not good at remembering details and I'm not good at vocalizing what I like about them. I just know when I like them and when I don't. I'm also bad at picking favorites. Some of my favorites are Harry Potter series, Hunger Games, Catcher in the Rye, Siddartha, the Giver. I like books that have really great, memorable characters and that I can pick up and put down easily (but that I don't want to put down).

2::What is your favorite meal to cook?
Hmm...interesting question. I love cooking yummy foods for special occasions. It makes me so happy when people like what I make. I think my favorite meal to cook for my family is steak, oven fries, and veggie (broccoli, zucchini, or asparagus) because everyone loves it and everyone eats it. That makes me happy.

3::If you could live in any other era which would it have been?
This is a great question. I would have loved to live in the mid to late 1800s, through the turn of the 20th century. So much changing. So many exciting things happening in art, music, politics, religion. Oh man, I would have loved that.

4::Who have you been told you look like?
Britney Spears or Helen Hunt.
One person said I looked like Celine Dion. Completely random.

5::Favorite TV show?
LOST. And Friends. And Wonder Years.

6::What brings you inner peace?
Being sealed to my family in the temple for eternity.

7::Tell me something you're good at.
I'm really good at playing Speed. You know, the card game? I'm really good.
And guiatar hero.

8::Ever chopped your hair super short?
The shortest I ever cut my hair was an A-line to my chin.

9::What is included in your perfect day?
A full night sleep. Waking up early (but not tired). Going on a run. Having Husband home. Going on a long walk on the river trail or in the mountains. Having some quiet time to write in my journal or write poems. Orchestra rehearsal. Lacrosse game. Snuggling with my kiddos. Going on a long drive listening to Dave Matthews. Lying on the grass in the sun. Taking a nap. Another walk at dusk. Cuddling with Husband on the couch with the fire going and a movie on. Quiet nights. Sitting on the porch or going on another walk under the stars. Snuggling in to a warm, cozy bed and falling asleep to a favorite movie - like Braveheart, or Rocky, or Romeo & Juliet.

10::What piece of furniture in your house is your favorite or are you the most happy with?
Our couches. They are leather, they are huge, they are comfy, and every seat reclines.

11::If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go, who would you go with, and how long would you stay?
Europe. Husband. As long as it took us to see all the sights in England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Italy. But especially Italy. I don't know...at least a month.

So...Stylish Blogger

So...anyone miss me?
Ya - sorry about the lack of blogging.
Not really sure what that's all about, except that I have just been doing other things and life seems to just keep on going.

During my short blogging sabbatical, my dear friend Ginger awarded me a Stylish Blogger Award over at her blog Ginger Unplugged.

Thank you Ginger! I have mentioned her blog before and how much I love it, but have I mention how much I love her? Ginger is one of the most amazing people I know. She is an incredibly talented writer (whose published, by the way), inspiring mother, great friend, and pretty much good at everything she does. I look up to her in so many ways and feel lucky to call her my friend.

And I absolutely love her blog. She always makes me laugh.

So, thank you Ginger, for awarding me the Stylish Blogger Award, even though my blog really isn't that stylish :)

Along with the award comes a few responsibilities:

1. Thank and link to the person who nominated you.
2. Share seven random facts about yourself.
3. Pass the award along to five blogging buddies.
4. Contact those buddies to congratulate them.

Since it's been awhile since I've shared random facts about me, this should be a little fun.

#1) Once I heard that a sobriety test was to sing the alphabet backward. I practiced and practiced just in case I ever was pulled over and accused of drunk driving. I wasn't confident that I would pass the test sober.

#2) My favorite candy bar is a Strawberry Charleston Chew. They're hard to find, so whenever I come across one I feel the need to buy it. Just in case.

#3) I do not like cats. I have a strange feeling that they are plotting to take over the world and I am not comfortable with that.

#4) I have been hypnotized. In fact, the hypnotist convinced me that I was Britney Spears and succeeded to get me to sing and dance on stage in front of my high school student body. This is proof that I was in fact hypnotized.

#5) I can play all of the string instruments. I can only play one well.

#6) When I was a kid, and asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always said an architect (?). Not really sure why, but that was my profession of choice until high school. Then I wanted to be a professional athlete. Seems a bit backwards, no?

#7) I tried out for my high school girls' ice hockey team. After the first day, I realized that not knowing how to ice skate was a huge problem and decided to go with indoor lacrosse instead.

So...that's it. I know they are a bit random, but I was trying to think of things not on my list of 200 things. I was too lazy to read through them all again, so I'm not sure if I repeated or not. Either way, it was fun to dig up so random facts.

And the five blogs I'm passing this award on to are:

At Full Capacity
Who Dub It
Copper Kettles
Kel's Version of it All
Farmer Freitas' Wife

...and anyone else who feels like participating! If you do, put a link in the comments!

So...It's been awhile since I've been "it"

1. What is your current obsession?

Kissing my babies' cheeks.

2. What do you hate that everyone else seems to love?
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. A complete waste of Brad Pitt.

3. What are you wearing today?
Jeans that I don't quite fit into yet, a shirt, and a Downeast wonder tee.
Pretty much the same thing everyday in variations...(see #16)

4. What’s for dinner?
Leftover chicken enchiladas. Again.

5. What would you eat for your last meal?
PB & honey & Wheat Thins - picnic at the park with the kiddos.
Oh wait, what would I eat for my last meal EVER, not what did I eat for my last meal....
That's an easy answer: Thanksgiving Dinner. No cranberry sauce.

6. What is the last thing you bought?
A BIG drink at Walkers.

7. What are you listening to right now?
Silence. Naptime is a precious gift that I am holding on to for dear life.

8. What do you think of the person that tagged you?
Well, I tagged myself from Mary Kaye...
I think she is exceptional. She is my sister-inlaw that I have always looked up to and admired. She's beautiful, whitty, thoughtful, and a loving mother & friend.

9. If you could have a house- fully paid for and totally furnished where would it be?
Cape Cod, MA on a private beach, with lots of windows.

10. If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would it be?
Massachusetts. Seriously. I miss it and am so excited to be there in 3 weeks.
Massachusetts completes me. :)

11. What is one of your hobbies?
Making mixes, or slideshows put to music.

12. What is your favorite quote?
"It's never too late to become the person you might have been."
-George Elliot

"There is no growth inside your comfort zone and there is not comfort inside your growth zone."
-Anonymous

13. What is your favorite color?
Pink.
I have three little girls and pink reminds me of them.
The pinker the better.

14. What is your favorite piece of clothing in your wardrobe?
My soccer sweats from high school. They are a bit trashy - way too big for me, so I have to roll them, and yes they say "SOCCER" across the bum - but I love them and wear them a lot....around the house.

15. What is your dream job?
Professional athlete. Not in my current state, but obviously if I was a professional athlete things would be different, if you know what I mean...

16. Describe your personal style?
um...non-existent???? I don't really have a sense of style... (see #3 & #14)
I don't know, if you're talking clothes I would say very casual and relaxed, pretty simple.
If you're talking decorating house, I would say straight, clean lines, mostly neutrals with accent colors. Mostly modern (not too extreme modern) with some traditional elements mixed in.
I guess the best way to describe my "style" is 1) Simple, 2) I like what I like.

17. What is your favorite tree?
Blossoming Pear.
White blossoms in spring, green leaves in summer, and bright red leaves in fall.
I like trees that show me all the seasons.

But if I'm talking one specific tree, of course my favorite is Nan.

18. What are you going to do after this?
Cleanup. This place is a disaster.

19. What is your favorite fruit?
pineapple

20. What inspires you?
Husband. Everyday.

21. Who was the last person that you kissed?
First Daughter.

22. What are you currently reading?
The Book of Mormon - trying to finish before the end of the year.
Uncle Tom's Cabin, but it's not going very well....

23. Go to your bookshelf, take down the first book that you see with a red binding, turn to page 26 and type out the first line.
"Would you like a fine pet?"
-Happy Birthday to You! by Dr. Seuss

Inspiring...

24. What delighted you the most today?
My 44 oz. Dr. Pepper.
I know.
I'm pathetic.

25. If your life had a theme song, what would it be?
this is a hard one because I feel like there's a different song for each stage of my life. But for this stage I would say "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith. Whenever I hear that song my kids go through my mind and I get all teary.

26. If you bought a wiener dog today, what would you name it?
Pepe

27.What is a character trait or habit of yours that you inherited from one of your parents?
Laughing at my own jokes, even if no one else is laughing. Thanks Dad :)

The rules:

1.Respond and rework; answer the questions on your blog, replace one question you dislike with a question of your own.

2. Tag eight other people.

People I Tag: Julie, Kari, Becca, Erica, Amy, Becky, Kelly, Allison - and anyone else who wants to!

2. I love rainy days
3. I love the smell of a city - air polution...mmm...

25. I dream about lacrosse on a regular basis. Always includes random people from my life. Some sort of metaphor for life perhaps...?

So...I chose lemon meringue pie

This was a very fun(ny) email I just got from my sister inlaw. You choose your favorite dessert out of a list and then read what psychaitrists say about you based on your choice.

Try it - and try not to cheat!

If all of the eight desserts listed below were sitting in front of you, which would you choose ? (sorry, you can only pick one)! Trust me...this is very accurate. Pick your dessert, and then look to see what psychiatrists think about you. REMEMBER - No Cheating. Make your choice before you check the meaning.

Here are your choices:

1. Angel Food Cake
2. Brownies
3. Lemon Meringue Pie
4. Vanilla Cake With Chocolate Icing
5. Strawberry Short Cake
6. Chocolate Cake With Chocolate Icing
7. Ice Cream
8. Carrot Cake

No, you can't change your mind once you scroll down, so think carefully about what your choice will be.

1. ANGEL FOOD CAKE -- Sweet, loving, cuddly. You love all warm and fuzzy items. A little nutty at times. Sometimes you need an ice cream cone at the end of the day. Others perceive you as being childlike and immature at times.

2. BROWNIES -- You are adventurous, love new ideas, and are a champion of underdogs and a slayer of dragons. When tempers flare up you whip out your saber.. You are always the oddball with a unique sense of humor and direction. You tend to be very loyal.

3. LEMON MERINGUE -- Sm ooth, sexy, & articulate with your hands, you are an excellent caregiver and a good teacher. But don't try to walk and chew gum at the same time. A bit of a diva at times, you set your own style because you do your own thing. You shine when it comes to helping others and have many friends.

4. VANILLA CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING -- Fun-loving, sassy, humorous, not very grounded in life; very indecisive and lacking motivation. Everyone enjoys being around you, but you are a practical joker. Others should be cautious in making you mad. However, you are a friend for life.

5. STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE -- Romantic, warm, loving. You care about other people, can be counted on in a pinch and expect the same in return. Intuitively keen. You can be very emotional at times but a true person in every way. You like to do things for yourself and help others learn about themselves.

6. CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING-- Sexy; always ready to give and receive. Very creative, adventurous, ambitious, and passionate. You can appear to have a cold exterior but are warm on the inside. Not afraid to take chances. Will not settle for anything average in life. Love to laugh.

7. ICE CREAM -- You like sports, whether it be baseball, football, basketball, or soccer. If you could, you would like to participate, but you enjoy watching sports. You don't like to give up the remote control. You tend to be self-centered and high maintenance.

8. CARROT CAKE -- You are a very fun loving person, who likes to laugh. You are fun to be with. People like to hang out with you. You are a very warm hearted person and a little quirky at times. You have many loyal friends. You were meant to lead and teach others. A wonderful role model.

I chose lemon meringue pie (of course). My second choice was ice cream (since I eat it after almost every meal - even though I wish I was having pie :) ). What do you think, is it accurate? Am I smooth & sexy? :D I wish I chose brownies though. Wouldn't it be sweet to be a slayer of dragons?!

What did you choose?
