First Daughter as Mary in the family Nativity
Christmas 2011
I love that Husband's family reenacts the first Christmas on Christmas Eve.
Each of the three times we've been there for Christmas it has happened.
It's a great way to teach the kids the realy story of Christmas and a chance to focus on the real meaning of the season.
I love it.
First Daughter was Mary, Husband was Joseph, Second Daughter was a sheep, Third Daughter was another barn animal (maybe a horse or cow?), and I comfortably watched from the couch, singing along with the hymns. First Daughter gently wrapped her special Christmas bear with care to play the part of Baby Jesus. She loved playing that important role. She'll be such a good mommy someday.
I love everything about Christmas - especially the special focus we give to the Savior, His birth, and His teachings. I also love the time we spend with family participating in wonderful family traditions like this. It really is the most wonderful time of the year.
