I just want to hold you.
I want to hug you and love you
Tell you that everything will be ok
Tell you that I love you
Tell you that even though everything is changing
Nothing will.
You still are my baby
And I’m always your mama.
I just want to hold you.
I want to rock you,
Feel the weight of your head and arms draped on my shoulder,
Whisper how much I love you,
Listen to you breathing
Heavy and steady,
Brush my lips across your forehead, nose, and soft warm cheek.
I love you more than you know.
I love you more than I can show.
I just want to hold you.

What a nice piece! Been struggling with a seventeen year old and reminded of her early years, wishing that holding her would still perform the magic. But, she remains headstrong in the image of her mother fulfilling the curse of "...someday I hope you have a kid just like you!" I figure I'm balance. Very nicely done, Meg!
