In 2011 I resolve to:
::have more personal connections and less digital connections
::smile more
::take a writing class
::play my violin more -> learn a new piece
::do more geneology -> find a family name that needs temple work done
::make a bucket list and cross a few things off
::play with my kids more
::keep working on more consistent + meaningful prayer
::finish the Old Testament
::start and finish Third Daughter's baby book
::attend more local cultural arts events -> concerts, plays, exhibits, etc. Oh, and take the Daughters with me when possible
::go on more creative dates with Husband
::show more love to the people I love
::be more patient, loving, compassionate, forgiving
2010 was a huge year of growth for me. It really was a good year. I can honestly say I am a better person today than I was one year ago. And that feels great. Not that I'm perfect by any means - I still have a lot of growth ahead of me - but it feels good to see the progress I have made. It gives me confidence and motivation to keep moving forward.
2011 is the year that I want to spend more time doing the things I want to do and quit filling my time with things that don't matter. Writing, playing my violin, family history, reading, connecting with people I love and care about, being an engaged mother - are all things I desire to do more of and be better at. I dream about the day that my life is full of only the things I love to do and being the mother/wife/friend I want to be. Why can't I live that dream now? These things are important to me, and so they need to be in my life. Consistently. And this year they will be.
Happy 2011 and Happy Resolving.
This is possibly one of my favorite times of the year.
