I love tax returns.
We splurged a little this weekend and did some decorating in our bedroom. We have been putting this off since the beginning of our marriage because it just hasn't been a priority. I guess I still wouldn't call it a priority, but it sure was fun to get a few things to make a HUGE difference in our room. Before our bedroom was just a place where we slept. Now it's the favorite room in the house! We have been spending a lot of time in there this weekend with the family - watching movies, playing on the bed, pillow fights, wrestling, etc. It has been fun.
I wish I had some before pictures, but here are the after:
new dresser and curtains
We moved this TV from our family room into our bedroom. The only way to make it work was to buy a new dresser...darn! :)
new throw
My attempt to try and cover our blue chair that doesn't match anything but I can't part with because I've rocked/nursed all of my babies in it...
I moved the cedar chest into our bedroom today. What do you think? With, or without?
I have to say, I'm pretty excited about these changes. The only things I want to do still is get new sheets (that aren't blue), hang a picture on the wall opposite the windows, and probably get a bedskirt. Someday we will probably do something about the nightstands and bookcase (not seen in any pictures), but for now I don't really care. They are functional and that works for me! Oh! And someday we plan to paint the walls - probably brown, but maybe a different shade of green....but probably brown. :)
And can I just say I love IKEA?!

I've wanted to put my cedar chest in front of my bed too! But our room is too small...bummer.
I'm so gald you got so much this weekend! I love the curtains! what good timing. Just in time for you to spend a lot of time in your room!
by the way I like the ceadar chest.
last comment I promise. I love the black and brown!
The chest makes the perfect place for little feet to rest - it's right there in the picture...
Love the chest at the bottom of the bed. Love it.
And I LOVE IKEA too! I think 90 percent of our furniture is from IKEA as this point in our marriage and it's just so functional, affordable AND stylish!
I never saw this post til now. I'm not quite sure how that happened, but anyways, I LOVE it. It looks so nice in there. I do like the ceder chest at the end of the bed. It looks very good!
